The University of Toledo’s Glass Bowl is proudly named after Toledo’s primary industry. The Glass Bowl was formerly known as University Stadium and fell into disrepair after four years of vacancy due to the war. It was renovated in 1946 with glass block installed throughout the stadium, a glass electric scoreboard, and a two tier press box that was made of blue vitrolite and glass block.
The Glass Bowl Dedication Game was played on December 7, 1946. More renovations occurred in the 80’s that introduced a modern look while keeping the feel of the old stadium intact. Check out the Glass Bowl for yourself and cheer on the Rockets at a home game this season!
